Allen Parish recorded 1,426 votes cast during early voting last week, Allen Parish Registrar Monica F. Warren reported.
Early voting for the October 12, election was conducted from Saturday, September 28, to Saturday, October 5th. Warren said 1,301 cast their ballots in person and as of Monday morning, 125 ballots had been mailed into her office. Mail-in ballots will be accepted for a few more days.
Allen Parish has 13,527 registered voters. Warren said her office usually sees a larger turnout when lots of local elections are listed on the ballot.
Polls on October 12, will open at 7 a.m. and close at 8 p.m Warren said her office is ready for election day.

Any runoff elections from the October 12, election will be November 16 in the Gubernatorial General Election. Deadline to register to vote in person or by mail is October 16. Early voting for the November election will be Nov. 2-9 (except Sunday, Nov. 3) from 8:30 a.m.-6 p.m.
