The Allen Parish Sheriff’s Office (APSO) executed a warrant in the Kinder area on Wednesday, October 27, which led to the arrest of two people and the recovery of narcotics.
Chief Deputy Blair Fontenot said the sheriff’s office obtained information that led to a search warrant of 3223 Hwy 383 in Kinder. The APSO, with the assistance of the Kinder Police Department, executed the search warrant locating Mauro Lopez Sandoval and Martin Cavazos at the residence.
While searching the property detectives discovered the two men were in possession of approximately 3,800 grams (8.37 lbs) of methamphetamine, 1,008 grams (2.22 lbs) of cocaine, 310 grams (11.07 ounces) of black tar heroin and 10 grams of marijuana. The street value of the narcotics seized is estimated to be approximately $500,000. Detectives also seized assault rifles and a handgun during the investigation. Both men were booked into the Allen Parish Detention Center.
As a result, the sheriff’s office arrested:
•Mauro Sandoval, I/M, 48, of Kinder, was booked into the parish jail on October 27, at 11:39 p.m. with manufacture / distribution of CDS (controlled dangerous substance) – Schedule I, manufacture / distribution of CDS – Schedule I, manufacture / distribution of CDS – Schedule II, manufacture / distribution of CDS – Schedule II, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of firearm / felon and possession of a firearm with CDS.
•Martin Cavazos, U/M, 35, of Kinder, was booked into the parish jail on October 28, at 12:16 a.m. with manufacture / distribution of CDS – Schedule I, manufacture / distribution of CDS – Schedule I, manufacture / distribution of CDS – Schedule II and manufacture / distribution of CDS – Schedule II.
