The Oakdale Warriors will face Port Barre during the Homecoming game Friday evening, October 1.
To celebrate Homecoming week, Monday, September 27, to Friday, October 1, each day was designated as dress up day. Monday was jersey day encouraging students to wear their favorite jersey. Extreme Holiday was Tuesday and students were encouraged to dress as their favorite holiday. Wednesday was Country vs. Country Club Day. Today, Thursday, is Duo Day. On Friday, students will show their warrior spirit with school spirit shirts.
The Booster Club sponsored several activities for students. On Monday, it was “Trivia Night.” Tuesday was “Movie Night.” Wednesday featured a “Scavenger Hunt.”
Thursday brings the Powder Puff game at 5:30 p.m. Admission is $3 per person. A bonfire will be held after the game at approximately 7:30 p.m. Thursday also will be voting for Homecoming Queen.
Friday begins with a pep rally from 10:30 to 11 a.m. Parade lineup will be at 1 p.m. You must fill a parade form and turn it in to the office to participate. The parade will start at 2 p.m.
A homecoming dance will be Saturday evening from 7 to 11 p.m. at the Oakdale Catholic Hall for $10 per person. This evening is being sponsored by the Junior Parent Prom Committee.
Members of the Oakdale High School’s 2021 Homecoming Court are seniors, Jacelane Clark, Christy Soileau and Natalie Cope; junior, Ta’Carra Washington and Sierra Paul; sophomores Zakyra Spikes and Reese Willis; and freshmen, Nariah Williams and Macy Ballard.
The classes to be honored this year are 2011 (10 years), 2001 (20 years), 1991 (30 years), 1981 (40 years), 1971 (50 years), etc. Welcome home honored classes.
