Maurie Dickey captured the Jr. Miss Allen Parish 2021 title, and Peyton Warren was crowned Miss Allen Parish 2021 Saturday at the annual Miss Allen Parish pageants.
Dickey, the daughter of Sidney and Sharon Dickey of Oakdale, is a sophomore at Oakdale High School. She is the granddaughter of Becky Deville of Pine Prairie and Ronald Dickey of Oakdale.
Her court consisted of first runner-up Maedan Doyle (daughter of Justin and Meghan Doyle and a freshman at Oakdale High). Placing second was Kale Cloud (daughter of Ronnie and Debbie Johnson and a ninth grader at Elizabeth High) followed by Madisyn Montou (daughter of Kristee Montou and Eric Montou and a junior at Oberlin High), Holly Patrick (daughter of Chad and Christy Patrick and a sophomore at Fairview High) and McKenzie Phillips (daughter of Meagan Conner, Kade Conner and Brandon Phillips and a freshman at Reeves High).
Additional awards included Dickey receiving the People’s Choice Award. Both Dickey and Patrick received the Director’s Award. Cloud was named Most Photogenic. Best Interview went to Doyle. Moutou and Patrick tied for the Miss Congeniality honors.
Ad awards included naming Doyle as top winner with $740. She was followed by Dickey with $600, Cloud with $500, Markway with $415 and Montou with $315.
Dickey enjoys reading and writing. She is also busy with cheerleading, dance, swimming, Bible Study and playing cards with her friends. As a freshman she maintained a 4.0 and was honored with the Honor of Excellence Award. She won first place in the Oakdale Middle School Science Fair and first place at the Regional Science Fair in Lake Charles. She was recognized at the State Science Fair at LSU for Future Women in Engineering. She received first place in the Oakdale Middle School Social Studies Fair and honorable mention at the Regional Social Studies Fair in Lake Charles. She also received the OkMS Citizenship Award
Warren is a 2021 graduate of Oberlin High School. She is the daughter of Nicole and Jake Warren and the granddaughter of Jenny and A.J. Ray.
Warren’s first runner-up was Natalie Cope, daughter of Stephen and Jessica Cope. She is a senior at Oakdale High School the granddaughter of David and Patricia McGee and Mary-Ann Balliet.
Other awards given included Warren being named Most Photogenic, Best Interview and People’s Choice Award. Cope was named Miss Congeniality and received the Director’s Award.
Warren enjoys reading, writing, horseback riding, dancing and cheering. She was named an All American Cheerleader, 2021 Miss Oberlin and 2021 Prom Queen.
Allen Parish District Attorney Joe Green was present to crown the winners.
Equilla Victorian, pageant director and member of the Allen Parish Fair Board, thanked everyone for attending and supporting the girls. The annual Allen Parish Fair will be held November 17, to November 20, 2021.
