On Friday, July 16, an oil tanker battery near Oberlin was reported on fire at approximately 11:37 a.m., according to authorities.
Sgt. James Anderson, spokesperson for Louisiana State Police Troop D reported the battery is on a dirt road about six miles east of Oberlin where state Highway 26 makes a hard turn from traveling east-west to north-south.
No injuries were reported, and there was no residences affected. Anderson said the fire was out that evening.
Jimmie Grundy, who photographed the incident above, said he was passing by when he noticed the fire and took some pictures to share with local media.
