The next election for residents of Allen Parish will be April 24.
Allen Parish Registrar Monica Fontenot reminded everyone books will close on Wednesday, March 24, for those wishing to register to vote in person or by mail. Those wishing to register electronically online have until Saturday, April 3.
Early voting for the April 24, election will be Saturday, April 10, to Saturday, April 17, excluding Sunday at the courthouse in Oberlin in the registrar’s office from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.
The April ballot will have continuation of present taxes for Road District One, Road District Two (two parts) and Road District Three. It also will include the renewal for the Law Enforcement District Proposition and continuation for collection of the Recreation District Six and mosquito proposition.
