During the March meeting for the Allen Parish Police Jury on Monday the jury discussed several agenda items.
The jury approved to adopt a resolution to authorized the Louisiana State Mineral and Energy Board and the Office of Mineral Resources to accept nominations, advertise for, accept and award bids and execute all oil, gas and mineral leases pertaining to Beau Allen. This allows the jury to route the project through the state mineral board to meet all the state requirements. This will be done at no cost to the police jury and ensures all measures are met.
The jury approved the resignation of Johnny Glenn from District Six Fire Board and appointed Andrew Willis in his place. They also approved the reinstatement of Jared Wheat, Randy Deshotel and Evrett Lovejoy to the board.
The jury added 3.2 miles of Martin Tram Road to the capital outlay plan and also approved to call a special election for a tax renewal for road district two.
The finance committee made their requests all of which were approved:
•Pay Charles Savant $1,972.02 for repairs on a dump truck for road district three.
•Approve to pay Corporate Warehouse Supply $1,679.65 for toners for the office printers.
•Pay Nick’s Tractor Repari LLC $4,300 for repairs on unit 9-24 for RD5.
The Road Committee made several requests all of which were approved:
•Approve a JSA with the City of Oakdale for grass cutting, pothile patching and trash pick up for the month of March 2020.
•Approve a JSA with the City of Oakdale for manpower, equipment and material to chip seal and repair Bradley Drive, Love Street and Ben Lane.
•Approve a JSA with the Allen Action Agency for manpower, equipment and material to repair a bus turnaround at 516 Gradney Lane in Oberlin, LA.
Approve a JSA with the Allen Parish School Board for manpower, equipment and material to fix the following bus turnarounds:
•609 Hamilton Cemetery Road in Fairview
•706 Monceaux Road in Reeves
•423 Parhart Road in Reeves
•301 Alex Lormand Road in Kinder
•189 AD Ingals Road in Fairview
The February 2020 prisoner expense report was read. The expenses for the month came in at $11,903.47. This is $5,396.54 under their monthly budget of $17,300. As of March 2, there were 102 parish inmates and 10 department of corrections inmates. There are also 86 federal inmates that are being housed in the federal wing of the prison.
