OBERLIN – The final sales tax report for 2019 showed a 7.3 percent drop compared to 2018. The collcetions for the sales tax collections for 2018 were totaled at $15,079,704.82. For 2019 they were totaled at $13,978,384.56. The difference in the years came in at $1,101,320.26.
The final numbers have each entity reporting as follows.
Only two entities that showed a drop for the year were the Allen Parish School Board No. Twoand the Town of Oberlin.
The APSB No. Two collected $4,061,794.38 in 2019 compared to the $5,354,210.47 in 2018.
The Town of Oberlin collected $194,032.45 for 2019 compared to $194,894.50 in 2019, a drop of .44 percent.
All other entities saw increases in collections for the year. The APSB No. Three collected $2,676,404.90 in 2018 and increased by .25 percent to collect $2,683,214.28.
The Allen Parish Police Jury collected $1,878,252.75 for 2019, .25 percent more than their 2018 collections of $1,873,476.93.
The town of Kinder collected $548,690.90 in 2018 then saw an increase in 2019 with collections of $570,981.44. That is an increase of 4.06 percent.
The Town of Elizabeth saw an increase of 49.06 percent. They collected $66,037.79 in 2018 and $98,436.11.
The City of Oakdale collected $1,328,868.39 in 2019. This is a 5.28 percent increase from their 2018 collections of $1,262,215.34.
The Town of Kinder Library/Sewerage tax collected $171,294.78 in 2019 compared to 2018’s $164,607.75, a 4.06 percent increase.
The Allen Parish Occupancy Tax increased in collections by 10.85 percent from 2018’s collections of $56,453.38 to collecting $62,576.37.
The Allen Parish Tourist Commission collected $187,729.02 this year. This was an increase of 10.85 percent from 2018’s $169,359.61.
The Allen Parish Sheriff District collected $2,676,378.78 in 2018. They increased those collections by .20 percent by collecting $2,681,721.20.
The Village of Reeves collected $59,483.39 in 2019. This was an increase of 60.88 percent from their 2018 collections of $36,974.47.
