Allen Parish residents with the Democratic Party will have to choose one of the following for presidential nomination, They are Michael Bennet from Lakewood, Co.; Joseph R. Biden, Philadelphia, Pa.; Michael R. Bloomberg, New York, NY; Cory Booker, Newark, NJ; “Pete” Buttigieg, South Bend, IN; John K. Delaney, Bethesda, MD; Tulsi Gabbard, Kapolei, HI; Amy Kiobuchar, Minneapolis MN: Deval Patrick, Boston, MA: Bernard “Bernie” Sanders, Burlington, VT; “Tom” Steyer of San Francisco, CA; Elizabeth Warren, Boston, MA; “Robby” Wells of Waynesboro, GA; and Andrew Yang, New York, NY.
Dorothy Sue Hill, Dry Creek, qualified to be the DSCC (Democratic State Central Committee) Member for the 32nd Representive District, Office A, and for the DPEC (Democratic Parish Executive Committees) Member at Large.
No one qualified for the DPEC Member District One, Office B, and District Two through Seven seats.
No one qualified for the Independent Party.
Presidential nominees for the Republican Party are Roque “Rocky” De La Fuente, San Diego, CA; “Bob” Ely, Vernon Hills, IL; Matthew John Matern, Manhattan Beach, CA; Donald J. Trump, Arlington, VA; and Bill Weld, Boston, MA.
The RPEC (Republican Parish Executive Committee) Member(s) at Large, five to be selected, had two persons file for the position: Craig Ray Hill of Oberlin and Katherine M. Stapleton of Oakdale.
No one qualified for the RPEC District One to Seven seats.
Remember you have to be registered to vote with the party.
Early voting is March 21-28 (except Sunday, March 22) from 8:30 a.m.-6 p.m., according to Registrar Monica Warren.
The deadline to register to vote in person or by mail is March 4.
