OBERLIN — The Haymons, a local Southern Gospel singing family, has recently released their third recording, “I’ll Carry You to Jesus,” in collaboration with national recording label Chapel Valley Music based in Sharps Chapel, Tennessee.
Residing in Oberlin, the Haymons are a Christian singing family, made up of Kevin and Tina Haymon and their three daughters, Olivia, Leandra and Emma Grace. The family is originally from Kinder. They moved to Oberlin about five years ago to help with the Pentecostal Church there.
Kevin writes the original music that they sing. His song, “This is the Rest,” won a national songwriting contest, and he was awarded the “Excellence in Lyric Writing” award for the song, “He Knows I’m Here,” featured on the new project.
Jack Allen, Director of Publishing and Director of A&R at Chapel Valley recording label said, “Chapel Valley is thrilled to work with this talented family. Between Kevin’s songwriting talent and the incredible vocal harmony, this family is definitely one to keep an eye on. They will release some outstanding new music, and their most recent album is just the beginning of it.
The family travels across Louisiana to sing for others.
The Haymons sing Southern Gospel Music with a progressive, Pentecostal-style flair. This is the third recording they have released since 2015. You can find out more at their website, thehaymons.com, and on their Facebook page.
