FOR BIDS
Sealed bids from General Contractors will be received by Oakdale Housing Authority, Oakdale, Louisiana, Owner, at the Housing Authority offices, 801 E. 7th Avenue, Oakdale, LA, 71463, 318/335-2417, until 2:00 p.m., Thursday, December 12, 2024, for 2023 CFP Oakdale Housing Modernization, Site – LA-33-2, and Site Improvements on Site LA-33-6 for Oakdale Housing Authority.
The Work consists of general interior modernization of two (2) 2 Bedroom living units 54 & 56 (2 story units), at Site LA-33-2, referred to as “Bowman Hicks” site. This interior modernization work includes removal and replacement of VCT & ceramic tile (upstairs Bathroom) with LVT flooring throughout the Living Unit. Flooring work will also include repair and refinishing of original wood strip flooring at 2nd floor level. Work also includes removal and replacement of baseboards & shoe mold, interior and exterior doors and frames, gwb overlay of all walls and ceilings, replacement of electrical system, including panel, wiring, device and light fixtures, Upgrade of electrical service size to accommodate conversion of gas water heating and gas furnaces to electric, replacement of plumbing fixtures (including hot water heaters), kitchen cabinets and countertops, shelving, relocation and replacement of existing central HVAC system, complete, including condensing units, air handlers, ductwork, grilles and diffusers, and conversion to all electric. Work shall also include replacement of exterior water valves and boxes with new.
Work also includes removal of five (5) existing mature trees (3 pines and 2 water oaks), haul off of debris and grinding of stumps, at Site LA-33-6 (Claudia Circle).
Bids shall be submitted in a sealed envelope, with the following information plainly marked on the outside of the envelope:
1. Bid for 2023 CFP Oakdale Housing Modernization, Site LA-33-2 & Site Improvements on Site LA-33-6 for Oakdale Housing Authority
2. Name of Contractor, and
3. License Number of Contractor.
Bidding documents may be reviewed at the offices of BARRAS ARCHITECTS, and at the following plan rooms in Louisiana: AGC Plan Room, F.W. Dodge Plan Room.
Application for documents, together with deposit of $ 100.00 per set should be filed promptly with BARRAS ARCHITECTS, 921 Harding Street, Lafayette, Louisiana 70503, phone 337/267-3400. Bidding material will be forwarded, shipping charges prepaid, as soon as possible. The full amount of deposit for 1 set will be refunded to each prime Bidder who submits a bona fide bid upon return of such set in good condition within 10 days after date of opening bids. All other deposits for complete sets will be refunded with deductions of 50% approximating reproduction and mailing costs upon return of same in good condition within 10 days after date of opening bids. Otherwise, the entire deposit may be retained by the Architect. Partial sets of documents will not be issued.
This is a U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development assisted project. Attention of Bidders is particularly called to the requirements as to conditions of employment to be observed and minimum wage rates to be paid under the Contract. Successful Contractor will not discriminate against any employee or applicant for employment because of race, creed, color, sex, age, or national origin.
Contract, if awarded, will be on a lump-sum basis to a Bidder licensed under the provisions of the Contractors Licensing Law of the State of Louisiana. No bid may be withdrawn for a period of 60 days after the time and date of opening. Bid must be accompanied by a bid bond in an amount not less than five percent of base bid. Both performance and payment bonds will be required in an amount equal to 100 percent of the Contract Price.
The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive technicalities and informalities.

Capacity for heavy lifting of 50 pounds independently and 100 pounds or more with assistance. Ability to provide direct care to students and assist with feeding, grooming, lifting, positioning, personal hygiene, toileting and other activities of daily living. Perform specific procedures including catheterization, irrigating colostomies, tube feeding, nasopharyngeal suctioning and irrigation.
