The City of Oakdale has the following adjudicated properties for sale. In order to place a bid, you must make a payment of $75.00 in the form of a money order or cashierÕs check. Placing multiple bids does require $75.00 for each bid. If you do not win the bid, you will be refunded the $75.00 payment. You must place the bid in a sealed envelope and drop it off at City Hall to Alison Doyle or Jacinda Clark. All bids are to be turned in by noon on October 3, 2024. The bids will remain sealed until our October City Council meeting and will be opened during the meeting.

MEETING
SEPTEMBER 5, 2024
Called to Order at 6:15 was a Public Hearing held at City Hall Courtroom at 333 E 6th Ave, Oakdale, LA 71463, allowing citizens to comment on City of OakdaleÕs sale of adjudicated property. No comments or opinions were made. A motion to close the hearing was made by Councilman Douglas, second by Councilman Willis, 5/5.
The City Council Meeting was held at the City Hall Courtroom at 333 E 6th Avenue, Oakdale LA
Called to Order at 6:30 PM:
1. Approval of Agenda and Add Ons: Motion made by Councilman Smith, second by Councilman Douglas, 5/5.
2. Roll Call City Clerk Paul Abrusley:
a. Present: Recording Secretary Alison Doyle, Councilwoman Allison, mayor Gene Paul, , City Clerk Paul Abrusley, Councilman at Large George Ashy, Councilman Douglas, Councilman Jeremy Smith, Councilman Ervin Willis, and City Attorney Ray Rush.
3. Prayer- Angel Moreaux from OHS
4. Pledge- Jacarvi Alsburry from OHS
5. Approval of Minutes from the 8th of August 2024, meeting. A motion to approve was made by Councilman Smith, second by Councilwoman Allison, 5/5.
6. Mayor Gene Paul
a. Luke Miller with Meyer and Meyer gave updates on on-going projects.
b. ADD ON: Councilman Smith requested to go into Executive Session.
7. Administrative Assistant Alison Doyle requested approval to advertise and sell adjudicated property. A motion to approve was made by Councilman at Large Ashy, second by Councilman Douglas, 5/5.
8. City Clerk Paul Abrusley presented the monthly report card.
9. Andy Welch requested that Fisher Street be abandoned so that he could use it for his business. A motion was made for the city to keep the street by Councilwoman Allison, second by Councilman Smith, 5/5.
10. Police Chief Chad Doyle recommended to rehire Andrew Ware as Part Time police officer. A motion to approve was made by Councilman at Large Ashy, second by Councilman Smith, 5/5. Chief recommended that Donna Eaves changes from Part Time Dispatcher to Full Time Dispatcher after passing Civil Service Exam. A motion was made to approve by Councilman at Large Ashy, second by Councilman Douglas. Chief present monthly report.
11. Fire Chief Eric Maricle presented monthly report.
12. Add On: Johnny Foster requested again to purchase property by Old Tram Road. Was told to get the information to our city attorney and we will look at it again and will have to advertise and do the sale by ordinance. A motion was made by Councilwoman Allison, second by Councilman Douglas, 5/5.
13. Add On: Jeremy Eaves asked to lease land on Industrial Park. The Council advised Jeremy to be looking for other possible areas. Will come next week and take a ride with the mayor to other look at other possibilities.
14. Adjourn – A motion was made to adjourn by Councilman at Large Ashy, second by Councilman Smith, 5/5.

September 9, 2024
The Parish School Board of the Parish of Allen, State of Louisiana (the ÒBoardÓ), met during its regularly called meeting at the Allen Parish School Board Office, 1111 West 7th Avenue, Oberlin, Louisiana, on Monday, September 9, 2024 at 5:00p.m., after full compliance with the convening of said meeting with the following members of the Board present:

After the meeting was called to order and the roll called with the above result, the Board considered a Proclamation calling a special election to fill the unexpired term of Kevin Tyler, School Board Member, District 7 of the Parish School Board of the Parish of Allen, State of Louisiana. Motion was made by Carolyn Manuel and seconded by Carleen Mahaffey that the following be adopted to-wit:
PROCLAMATION
BE IT PROCLAIMED BY THE PARISH SCHOOL BOARD OF THE PARISH OF ALLEN, STATE OF LOUISIANA, convened in regular session on the 9th day of September, 2024, and in accordance with Sections 18:602, 18:402, 18:467,467.1 , and 18:468 of the Louisiana Revised Statutes of 1950, as amended, and other applicable constitutional and statutory authority; that:
SECTION 1. Kevin Tyler, School Board Member, District 7 of the Parish School Board of the Parish of Allen, State of Louisiana, resigned from the Board on August 20, 2024, thereby creating a vacancy in the office of School Board Member, District 7 of the Parish School Board of the Parish of Allen, State of Louisiana.
SECTION 2. On September 9, 2024, in regular session, the members of the Board, by a unanimous vote, called a special election to fill the unexpired term of Kevin Tyler, School Board Member, District 7 of the Parish School Board of the Parish of Allen, State of Louisiana, as follows:
Special Election Qualifying Begins: January 29, 2025
Special Election Qualifying Ends: January 31, 2025
Special Primary Election: March 29, 2025
Special General Election: May 3, 2025
SECTION 3. All persons seeking the office of School Board Member, District 7 of the Parish School Board of the Parish of Allen, State of Louisiana, have January 29, 30, and 31, 2025, to qualify as a candidate for the vacated seat.
APPROVED AND ADOPTED by the Parish School Board of the Parish of Allen, State of Louisiana, on this 9th day of September, 2024.
A vote was then called with the results as follows:

And the said Proclamation was declared duly adopted on this 9th day of September, 2024.
