Current VDCI contract will expire in August 2025. Checking into extending current contract with cost adjustment or do we bid out again. Cost to spray areas with plane and no FEMA assistance would be $800,000. RKS is working spraying areas as allowed with weather conditions. Their main concern is spraying for disease control first.
Next monthly meeting date is June 18, 2024.

Meeting was called to order by Chairman Amy Elam. Roll call was as follows: Present were Amy Elam, Luther Miller, Al Ritter, Rusty Reeves, Paula Lee, Chief Michael Dotson, and guest Steven Stanley. Absent was Asst. Chief Jonathan Aymond.

Chief’s Report: 2 Mutual Aid, Structure Fire (Kinder), 2 Medical Calls.
Motion by Al Ritter, seconded by Paula Lee to request a Ethics Opinion regarding Jonathan Aymond being the Fire Chief of the Fire District with compensation. Motion carried.
Motion by Luther Miller second by Paula Lee to authorize the purchase and installation of a Radio Interface Module by LRC Wireles at a cost of $4,750.00. Motion carried.
Motion to accept Michael Dotson’s resignation as Fire Chief by Al Ritter second by Paula Lee. Motion carried.
Motion by Paula Lee to appoint Jonathan Aymond as Fire Chief second by Al Ritter. Rusty Reeves abstained. Motion carried.

Notice is hereby given pursuant to Article 7, Section 23(C) of the Constitution and R.S. 47:1705(B) that a public hearing of the Allen Parish Assessment District in Allen Parish will be held at the regular meeting place in the Allen Parish Assessor’s office located in the Courthouse Building, 400 West 6th Avenue, Oberlin, Louisiana, on Monday, July 29, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. to consider levying additional or increased millage rates without further voter approval or adopting the adjusted millage rates after reassessment and rolling forward to rates not to exceed the prior year’s maximum. The estimated amount of tax revenues to be collected in the next tax year from the increased millage is $762,829.20, and the amount of increase in taxes attributable to the millage increase is $27,100.01.
