Kevin Meaux called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m.
Motion by Tyler Tullier, seconded by Sherwin Carrier and carried to approve the minutes from meeting on February 26, 2024.
Motion by Tyler Tullier, seconded by Matt Hebert and carried to approve the financial report.
Motion by Matt Hebert, seconded by Tyler Tullier and carried to pay bills.
A public comment period was allowed.
Old Business:
Grant update. None
Mike Manuel and Kalob Deaton to go look at the culverts and determine if they need changing for the washout behind Reed Gas. Work to be done in the summer. Tabled until March. Kevin Meaux to get with the state.
Property line litigation on Pastor Cernek’s field and road flooding. Not ours, Tyler to call them.
New Business:
Motion by Tyler Tullier, seconded by Sherwin Carrier and carried to dig ditch behind Gerald Manuel’s house. 1500 ft.
Motion by Tyler Tullier, seconded by Matt Hebert and carried that the meeting be adjourned.

MEETING April 2, 2024
The regular monthly meeting of the West Allen Parish Water District was called to order at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 2, 2024 at the office of West Allen Parish Water District by Chancy Frith, Carl Ritter prayed.
Present: Chancy Frith, Kurt Schultz, Carl Ritter, Thomas I. Savoie, Glen Monceaux, Rusty Reeves, Jonette Westmoreland & Nathan Booher

Approve/Amend Agenda
A motion was made by Carl and seconded by Kurt to add Pledge of Allegiance and a resolution to remove Rusty from all agency contacts to the agenda under New Business, passed.
A motion was made by Rusty and seconded by Carl to accept the minutes of the last meeting as presented and typed with the change Rusty requested, passed.
A motion was made by Glen and seconded by Kurt to accept the March 2024 financial report as presented, passed.
A motion was made by Glen and seconded by Ira to approve Chancy signing the letter to send to Traci Watts, passed.
A motion was made by Kurt and seconded by Carl to move $50,000 from surplus savings into the operating account, passed.
A motion was made by Kurt and seconded by Rusty to pay Meyer & Associates $69,307.10, passed.
A motion was made by Kurt and seconded by Glen to accept Jeremy Rion’s resignation letter, passed.
A motion was made by Rusty and seconded by Kurt to notify Police Jury that we have a vacancy created by Jeremy Rion’s resignation and would like the opportunity to submit a candidate for the Police Jury’s recommendation if allowed, passed.
A motion was made by Rusty and seconded by Carl to send a request to the Police Jury to reappoint Ira Savoie, passed.
A motion was made by Ira and seconded by Rusty to approve the security camera system, passed.
A motion was made by Rusty and seconded by Kurt to update the agency contact to Chancy Frith, passed.
A motion was made by Rusty and seconded by Kurt to adjourn at 8:42 P.M., passed.
The next scheduled meeting will be held at 5:30 p.m. on May 7, 2024.

The Allen Parish Police Jury is seeking a vendor to supply a modular steel bridge structure only for the replacement of the Park Road Bridge. The construction of abutments and installation of the bridge will be bid under separate contract.
Complete specifications for this project are available in electronic form only. They may be obtained without charge and without deposit from the Allen Parish Engineer, Jacob Dillehay, P.E. at jdillehay@appj.us. Printed copies are not available from the Designer, but arrangements can be made to obtain them through most reprographic firms. Plan holders are responsible for their own reproduction costs. The Owner reserves the right to reject any and all bids for just cause. In accordance with La. R.S. 38:2212(B)(1), the provisions and requirements of this Section; and those stated in the bidding documents shall not be waived by any entity.
When this project is financed either partially or entirely with State Bonds or financed in whole or in part by federal or other funds which are not readily available at the time bids are received, the award of this Contract is contingent upon the granting of lines of credit, or the sale of bonds by the Bond Commission or the availability of federal or other funds. The State shall incur no obligation to the Contractor until the Contract Between Owner and Contractor is fully executed.
