Last week at Kinder High School, they had the Winter Chess Tournament, sponsored by Allen Parish Mosquito Control. There were 16 participants in the double elimination tournament. This is the third chess tournament that KHS has hosted for the new chess club this year. First place was Gentry Parker (sophomore), second place Carson Savant (freshman) and third place Braylin Robinson (sophomore). This is the first year for the chess club at Kinder High School, and in January, they will be looking for new members of the team and new sponsors for their tournaments.
