A pair of game winning baskets at the buzzer, the season debut of Oakdale’s Elijah Anderson, a 40-point performance from Reeves’ Cameron Cavenah, and an overtime win in the girls’ championship game between last year’s state runners-up in Non-Select Division V from Fairview and the state champions in Non-Select Division IV from Oakdale highlighted this year’s Allen Parish Basketball Tournament which began at Fairview High School on Thursday, December 14.
Kinder (G)
vs. Reeves
The Lady Yellow Jackets took a 38-29 lead into the fourth quarter, but Reeves connected on five baskets from beyond the arc to win 52-51. Three of the five baskets, including the game winner, came from Lauryn Williams.
Reagan Bryant led Kinder with 13 points. For Reeves, Lailah Williams scored 14 points.

vs. Elizabeth
Thirty-two points from Brennon Thompson were not enough for Elizabeth in a 70-63 loss to Kinder.
Thompson scored 15 points in the first half and 17 points in the second half. Latyruss Guidry led Kinder with 21 points.
Elizabeth (G)
vs. Oberlin
Elizabeth’s Danilee Coleman and Oberlin’s Sage Wolfe each scored 30 points as the Lady Bulldogs earned a 69-63 win.
Carra Ardoin and Gabbie Carrier each added 17 points for Elizabeth; Kayle Wolfe added 16 points, and Megan Manuel added 11 points for Oberlin.
Oberlin led 19-10 after the first quarter and took a 34-33 lead into halftime. Elizabeth outscored Oberlin 2-1 in the third quarter to take a 57-46 lead going into the final period.
Fairview (B)
vs. Oberlin
The first day of the tournament ended with the host Panthers knocking off Oberlin 86-46.
Dalt Goode led Fairview with 23 points. For Oberlin, Adarius Botley scored 15 points, and Jayden Bokenmeyer added 12.
All but Goode’s two points came in the first half as Fairview led 56-32 going into intermission.
Oakdale (G)
vs. Elizabeth
The Lady Warriors began their run to the tournament finals with a 71-29 win over Elizabeth to begin the action on Friday.
Emani Young led Oakdale with 20 points. Jolie West added 15, and Kaylee Bradley added 10. For Elizabeth, Danilee Coleman scored 20 points to lead the team.
Oakdale went on a 46-18 run in the first half and held Elizabeth to 9 points in each of the first three quarters of the game.

vs. Kinder
The Warriors got 13 points from Leon Posey V and 11 points from DJ Johnson in a 72-30 win over Kinder.
For the Yellow Jackets, Erick Levan led with 9 points. Cameron Bellow and Jaron Joseph each added 6, and Latyruss Guidry added 5.
Kinder only got 3 points from Levan in the first quarter, while Oakdale as a team scored 17 points over that same time. Oakdale then led 38-13 at the half and 50-26 after the third period.
Fairview (G)
vs. Reeves
A 21-point effort from Ella Reeves sent her Lady Panthers into the finals as Fairview defeated Reeves 75-28.
Reesie Jinks added 16 points for Fairview. For the Lady Raiders, Lauryn Williams scored 9 points, and Hope Cauthron added 5.
Fairview scored 33 points alone in the second quarter to take a 54-18 halftime lead.

vs. Reeves
The second day of the tournament ended with Fairview defeating Reeves in a two-possession game at 69-64.
Dalte Goode led the Panthers with 28 points, and Bryson Anderson and Jackson Williams each added 15. For the Raiders, Cameron Cavenah led the way with 22 points.
Reeves led 56-51 going into the final period, but Goode scored 11 points to rally his team to a trip to the finals on Saturday.

vs. Elizabeth
Reeves scored the first 9 points of the game but was then outscored 67-46 as Elizabeth won the girls’ consolation game, 67-55, on Saturday morning.
Lailah Williams led Reeves with 17 points, and Cauthron added 15. For Elizabeth, Danilee Coleman led with 32 points, and Carra Ardoin added 12.

vs. Kinder
The Raiders tied the game at 59-59 with 35 seconds on the clock and won on a basket at the buzzer from Cameron Cavenah.
Latyruss Guidry led Kinder with 20 points. Erick Levan and Cameron Bellow each added 15.
Fairview (G)
vs. Oakdale
In the girls’ finals, Fairview got 26 points from Ella Reeves to knock off Oakdale, 81-77, in overtime.
Kaylee Bradley led Oakdale with 26 points.
Fairview led 24-20 after the first period and took a 46-39 lead going into halftime. The Lady Panthers extended their lead to 60-55 after the third quarter. Oakdale went on a 13-8 run in the final period of regulation to tie the game.
Fairview, then in overtime, went on a 13-9 run. Seven of the 13 points came from Reesie Jinks, who ended the game with 11 points.

The Oakdale Warriors added another tournament title to its resume by defeating Fairview 76-52.
DJ Johnson led Oakdale with 18 points. Leon Posey V added 11, and Elijah Anderson added 10.
For Fairview, Dalte Goode scored 12 points, Randall Jinks added 11, and Connor Dowies added 10.
Oakdale led 20-13 after the first quarter of play and extended its lead to 40-28 at halftime. The Warriors then added 18 points in the third quarter to take a 58-37 lead into the final stanza.
