Governor John Bel Edwards signed Act 444, also known as “Beau’s Law,” recently. Representative Dewith Carrier and Allen Parish resident, Beau Montou, traveled to Baton Rouge to meet with Governor Edwards to witness the official signing of “Beau’s Law,” which was sponsored by Representative Carrier in the 2023 Regular Session. Montou authored the proposed law and passionately supported the cause with Representative Carrier. This important legislation provides more resources to those with disabilities. It allows access to restrooms of retail establishments to persons with certain conditions. Representative Carrier stated he is very proud to have had the opportunity to work closely with Montou. He is a very inspiring young man. This is an incredible accomplishment and a true display of courage and determination to improve humanity for all.
