The Oberlin American Legion Post 144 hosted a fun day in the park for the Fourth of July with the help of many donations. A big thank you goes to all the supporters who helped to make this event unique.
Louisiana State Representative Dewith Carrier donated the water slide obstacle course from Jump N Jax Inflatables.
Clerk of Court Stacey Hurst donated $300 to the event. The money was used to purchase a slip-n-slide for the children along with wading pools and beach balls.
Randy Gresham, better known as “DJ Howling Wolf” donated his music abilities to the event by playing music throughout the day.
Pauline Smith did face painting.
Tootsie Pops Food Truck was on hand to sell food and snowcones.
The Allen Parish Fire District Five brought out the fire trucks and helped by spraying water onto the children and those who wanted to get wet.
There were fund raising tickets sold and lots of fun for the entire family in the park, thanks to all these donations and the American Legion.
