School districts across Allen Parish are invited to the First Annual Walk-a-Thon, sponsored by Allen Parish School District and the School Food Service Department. April Fruge Hall, supervisor for the child nutrition programs, said all ages are invited to the Oberlin High School Track and Field from 10 a.m. to 12 noon on Saturday, May 13. Admission is free.
This year’s theme is “Walking Towards a Healthier Generation.” The Oberlin High cheerleaders will led the walk. There will be games for the kids and informational booths from local businesses and organizations for all. DJ Zach Fontenot will provide music. Please wear a green shirt to represent vibrant health.
Smokey D’s Food Truck will be selling healthy food options.
Raffle tickets will be sold to benefit the parish’s food service department.
