Authorities discovered a large amount of narcotics with a man living at the Oakwood Inn in Oakdale.
The Allen Parish Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit obtained information that Michael Lynn Holmes, who was living at the Oakwood Inn, had a large amount of narcotics in his possession, according to information from Sheriff Doug Hebert III’s office. Based on the investigation, narcotics agents were able to obtain a search warrant for the Oakwood Inn room. Michael Holmes was found to be in possession of 4.6 grams methamphetamine, 5.1 grams crack cocaine, 63 oxycodone pills, 1,169 grams marijuana and a firearm.
As a result, Michael L. Holmes, 30, male, was booked into the Allen Parish Detention Center on Wednesday night, April 5, where he is still being held. His charges include:
•Manufacture, distribution or possession with intent to distribute CDS (controlled dangerous substance) – Schedule I
•Manufacture / distribution of CDS – Schedule II or possession with intent to distribute
Manufacture / distribution of CDS – Schedule II or possession with intent to distribute
•Manufacture / distribution of CDS – Schedule II or possession with intent to distribute
•Possession of firearm / felon
•Illegal use of CDS in presence of minor
•Use or possession with intent to use
•Possession of a firearm with CDS
Bond was set at $140,500.
