The Fourth Annual Rib Festival in Oberlin will be held April 15, at the Veterans Park.
The rib cookoff will recognize first, second and third place winners as well as the best team name. Cost is $50 per team. For more information, call Jai Courville at 337-639-4333 or stop by city hall in Oberlin.
Everyone must pay $10 to receive a koozie and enter the event.
The competition states ribs may be seasoned, sauced and cooked in a manner the contestant believes will deliver a great product in the time allowed. Each team will place three individually cut ribs in the “turn-in” box, which will be provided by event staff. No marking, bending tabs or applying other identifying marks will be permitted on or in the box. Teams will be disqualified.
Contestants will not be allowed to garnish or add side sauce containers or any other foreign objects, such as foil, tooth picks or skewers, to the turn-in box.
Vendors, such as booths and food trucks, will be allowed if they are registered by April 10. Booth rates are $25 for a 10×10 or 10×12 canopy with three or four tables and chairs, which will be provided by the vendor. Electricity will not be provided. If additional booth space is needed, there will be an additional charge.
