The parish has a new Allen Council on Aging executive director in Joelene Hartley.
On February 7, the Board of Directors for the Allen Council on Aging met and reviewed applications. After careful consideration, Hartley was hired for the role of executive director by an unanimous vote. She officially takes the position starting February 20.
Hartley, a native of Florida, has been an Allen Parish resident for 12 years. She is a mother of three children. She joined the staff of Allen Council on Aging approximately four years ago and quickly learned human services was her calling. She has headed each of the nine programs of the agency and is actively engaged in them as interim executive director.
“I know there are no shoes larger to fill than those of Ms. Pat Jones, and I hope to continue to make her proud.”
Hartley is following Jones as executive director. She plans to carry on the traditions that have been put in place and expand services as funding allows.
“I look forward to meeting and working with the parish partners.”
