OAKDALE
Veterans Day observed
Oakdale Elementary invited area veterans to a ceremony complete with singing, technical presentation and a walking parade. Principal Ann Monroe said the morning began with the school choir singing “Proud to be an American” to open a reception. During the reception, food was served including a PowerPoint presentation, the Pledge and food. Following the reception, students were able to cheer for these heroes as they paraded through the school’s halls. Veterans walked with students and visited classrooms. The walls were decorated with flags and other veteran memorabilia. It was a great experience for all and many memories were made.
