The annual Allen Parish pageant will be held Saturday, August 27, at the Allen Parish Civic Center in Oberlin at 7 p.m., according to Equilla Victorian, pageant director and member of the Allen Parish Fair Board.
Four girls are vying for the Miss Allen Parish title. 2021 Miss Allen Parish Peyton Warren will be crowning her successor.
There will be five candidates for the Jr. Miss Allen Parish pageant. Outgoing Jr. Miss Allen Parish Maurie Grace Dickey will be relinquishing her title.
Miss Allen Parish candidates are:
Maurie Dickey
Maurie Grace Dickey is a junior at Oakdale High School. She is the daughter of Sidney and Sharon Dickey. Her grandparents are Ronald Dickey of Oakdale and the late Patsy Dickey and Rebecca Deville of Pine Prairie and the late Pete Deville.
She enjoys being a cheerleader at Oakdale High School She likes reading and writing and Bible study. She also enjoys being actively involved as a local volunteer in her community. She holds membership and participates in FFA, Beta Club, 4-H Jr. Leaders, Jr. Lions Club and Friendship Baptist Youth Group.
Awards include first place at the Louisiana State Fair in FFA for outdoor furniture competition. She received the Honor of Excellence Award and completed her previous high school years with 4.0 and 3.9 GPA. She was recognized at the State Science Fair at LSU for Future Women in Engineering and received the Citizenship Award and first place at Louisiana’s State and Regional Commodity Talks. She was also crowned the 2021 Jr. Miss Allen Parish.
Kendya Guillory
Kendya Guillory is a junior at Oberlin High. Her parents are Chelsea Guillory and Terry Anderson. She is the granddaughter of Joyce Guillory.
She is co-captain of her color guard, a member of Student Council. She is a class representative and a member of FBLA and Healthy Living Club.
Awards include third place pubic service announcement in FBLA. She also participated in the national competition in Chicago. She is a banner roll student which she has maintained throughout high school. She also is a Junior Class representative at Oberlin High.
Isabella Smith
A senior at Fairview High School, Isabella Grace Smith is the daughter of Jessica Trammel and Rick Smith. She is the granddaughter of Tina Welborn, Scott Welborn, Pat Tate, Aline Simons, Jody Smith and Ricky Smith.
She enjoys softball, basketball and riding cutting horses. She also likes to spend time with her family and friends.
Her awards include Region Five Reserve Cutting Horse championship, three times Champion Class B girls basketball, All-State and All-District basketball, softball defensive MVP and All District.
Kaydin Strother
Kaydin Michelle Strother is a senior at Oakdale High School. She is the daughter of Ashley Walker and Bee Richard. Her grandparents are Keith and Pam Strother.
Dancing and cheering are among her hobbies. She also likes softball and basketball. She also likes competing in pageants.
Her awards include All American Cheerleader. She received the 3.7 GPA award.

Alissa Darbonne
Alissa Claire Darbonne, daughter of Brandon and Jessica Darbonne, is a ninth grader at Oberlin High. She is the granddaughter of Bonnie and Gerald Darbonne and Jack and Wanda Hebert.
She enjoys reading, hanging out with family and friends and babysitting.
Her awards include National Beta Award and Cheer Camp Award. She is an honor roll student.
Brynlee Perry
Brynlee Perry is an eighth grader at Fairveiw High School. Her parents are Stephanie and Clay Perry. Her grandparents are Colleen and Randy Sonnier, Rose and Steve Fontenot and Juan and Michelle Perry.
She likes to play basketball and softball. She also enjoys reading and singing.
Her success as a student included a 3.9 GPA. She has received the Scholastic Award. She also received recognition for her 4-H Demonstration Day and basketball championship.
Mali Rodriguez
Mali Layne Rodriguez, an eighth grader, attends Oberlin Junior High. She is the daughter of Kelsey and Dylan Darbonne and Christopher Rodriguez. Grandparents are Diedra and Bruce Rodriguez, Greg Savoy and Trina Klein.
Her hobbies include competition dance with Helen Gordon’s School of Dance. She is the captain of the Oberlin Junior High Cheerleaders, a member of the Oberlin Lady Tigers Junior High basketball team and a member of the school’s track team. She is also involved in Jr. Beta and 4-H.
Awards include the Jr. Beta Leadership Award. She attended the Jr. Beta Nationals. She is a member of the Helen Gordon’s competition team where they won overall for their dance numbers at regionals.
Avery Williams
Fairview High’s Avery Williams is in the eighth grade. She is the daughter of Cody and Amy Williams. Her grandparents are Albert and Betty Vaughn and Jerry and Peggy Williams.
Her hobbies include basketball and softball. She likes pageants and 4-H, Beta and reading.
She was named the Allen Parish Student of the Year. She won first place at 4-H Demonstration Day. She’s won awards in reading, science and social studies. Her GPA is 3.9. She was also a member of the Class B State Championship team.
Ainslie Willis
A ninth grader at Oakdale High School, Ainslie Willis is the daughter of Joseph and Hayden Willis. She is the granddaughter of Grant and Nancy Willis, Rhonda Winfree and Paul Grosshans.
She enjoys singing, playing baseball and softball and hanging out with her family.
She is a 4.0 student and received the Presidential Award.
