The Village of Elizabeth will be selling movable surplus property with a minimum bid. The Surplus Property is a 2005 F-350 Flatbed. The minimum bid for this truck is set at $3500.00. Sealed Bids will be accepted at the Village Hall until Thursday, July 10, 2025 at 3:00pm. Bids will be opened during the Council Meeting at 6:30pm on Monday, July 14, 2025 located at Town Hall, 230 Poplar Street, Elizabeth, LA 70638. Please post your “name” and “2005 Ford Flatbed” only on front of the sealed bids. Please list all contact information inside along with your bid. The Village of Elizabeth shall reserve the right to reject any and all bids and remove the item of movable surplus property from sale prior to opening of bids. The City Council Meeting was held at the City Hall Courtroom at 333 E 6th Avenue, Oakdale LA.
Called to Order at 6:30PM:
1. Approval of Agenda, a motion to approve was made by Councilman Smith, second by Councilwoman Allison. 5/5
2. Roll Call
a. Present: Recording Secretary Alison Doyle, City Attorney John Richardson, Councilman Jeremy Smith, Councilman at Large Adam Gordon, Mayor David Vidrine, Councilwoman Allison, City Clerk Kimberly Ware and Councilman Fredrick Douglas Councilwoman Dina Eaves were all present.

5. Approval of Minutes from April 3rd, 2025, council meeting. A motion to approve was made by Councilman at Large Gordon, second by Councilman Smith. 5/5

a. Luke Miller with Meyer and Meyer gave updates on on-going projects.
b. City updates
i. Discussion on Future Sales Tax Proposal, mayor stated that it would cost $1500 to have Foley and Judell handle the procedures for putting the sales tax proposal on the ballot in November and will take effect next April.
ii. City Ordinances: council agrees to update and amend current ordinances.
iii. Discussion on Outsourcing Work Tasks: the council has agreed to look into this idea and check costs.
iv. Pass a Resolution confirming that Swift Recreation, LLC has “Substantially Completed” the project entitled Love Louisiana Outdoors Program CBDG-CV (Playground Equipment). A motion to approve was made by Councilwoman Allison, second by Councilman Douglas. 5/5
v. Pass a Resolution confirming that Guillory Construction Inc has “Substantially Completed” the project entitled Love Louisiana Outdoors Program CBDG-CV (Playground Equipment). A motion to approve was made by Councilman Smith, second by Councilwoman Eaves. 5/5
7. City Clerk Kimberly Ware presented the monthly financial report.
8. Councilwoman Dina Eaves opened a discussion to amend the ordinance restricting bars/lounges to be open on Sundays. Councilman Smith stated to have it placed on the voting ballot and let the people decide. There will need to be a public hearing if the ordinance is amended. The council discussed amending the ordinance. It has not yet been approved to advertise said ordinance.
9. Police Chief Chad Doyle made a recommendation to hire Alex Chamberlain as a Part Time Police Officer. A motion to approve was made by Councilwoman Allison, second by Councilman Douglas. 5/5 Chief made a recommendation to hire Daniel Durio as a Full Time Police Officer. A motion to approve was made by Councilman Smith, second by Councilwoman Allison. 5/5.
Chief presented monthly report.
10. Fire Chief Eric Maricle made a Recommendation to move Frankie Calvaruso, Jr. from Part Time Firefighter to Full Time Firefighter, probationary conditions, pending he completes Fire 1 Training. A motion was made by Councilman Smith, second by Councilman at Large Gordon. 5/5

Fairview High School Principal
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
1. A valid Type A, Type B, or Level 3 Louisiana Teaching Certificate with a Master’s degree or higher or completion of a Practitioner/Residency Leader Program;
2. Louisiana certificate must show endorsement as Principal, Provisional Principal, Elementary Principal, or Educational Leader;
3. Must have three (3) years of successful teaching and/or administrative experience during the five (5) year period preceding appointment to principalship;
4. Administrative experience is preferred and
5. Such alternatives to the preceding qualifications as the Superintendent may find appropriate and acceptable.
