Allen Parish’s Sales Tax Collection report has been showing some ups and downs over the last few months.
In July, almost everyone saw a decrease in funds collected. Those fortunate to see growth were Elizabeth ($124.52 more than the previous month), City of Oakdale ($3,216.21 more than the previous month), Allen Parish Occupancy Tax ($873.41 more than previous month) and Allen Parish Tourist Commission ($2,620.24 more than the previous month).
Overall the parish saw a decrease of 10.30 percent ($195,239.88 less collected in the month-to-month comparisons.) The parish’s yearly comparisons showed a 5.33 percent increase for $652,294.99 when comparing 2023 collections to 2024 collections. In the yearly comparisons, Oberlin (1.23 percent less), Allen Parish Occupancy Tax (28.39 percent less) and Allen Parish Tourist Commission (28.39 percent less), all saw decreases in collections.
