The Allen Parish Tax Assessor’s office will hold a public meeting in its office, located in the courthouse in Oberlin, on Monday, July 29, at 10 a.m.
The notice was released this week, pursuant to Article 7, Section 23(C) of the Constitution and R.S. 47:1705(B).
Participants at the hearing will be considering levying additional or increased millage rates without further voter approval or adopting the adjusted millage rates after reassessment and rolling forward to rates not to exceed the prior year’s maximum.
The estimated amount of tax revenues to be collected in the next tax year from the increased millage is $762,829.20, and the amount of increase in taxes attributable to the millage increase is $27,100.01.
Be sure to attend the meeting on Monday, July 29.

The Allen Parish Tax Assessor’s office phone system is not working. The phone system quit working during the storm on May 16. At that time, it was discovered the system is outdated, so the Assessor’s office is going through the bidding process for a new phone system.
