Meeting March 4, 2024
The Village of Reeves met in regular meeting at the Reeves City Hall on March 4, 2024. Mayor Chris Guillory called the meeting to order at 6:30 pm. All were present. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited and followed was a prayer led by Alderman Glenn Ducharme.
Motion by Ducharme, second by Jeffcoats, and carried to dispense with the reading of the February 12, 2024 meeting and accept as written.
Public meeting was opened to discuss the financials. No comments were made. Public meeting was closed.

Discussed the plans for the new city hall are waiting for approval by the Fire Marshall.
Discussed the Allen Parish Rural Health Clinic that has been delivered within the city limits and will be getting a touch up of paint.
Discussed the post office is still set to come in April 2024.
Chief Bertrand let the board know that he will begin conducting interviews for the assistance chief of police position.
Discussed the owner of the gas station is waiting for an approval from Chevron or Exon.

A motion was made by Kurt and seconded by Carl to move $500,000 from our construction account into a 10 month Construction CD at JD Bank with an interest rate of 4.75%, passed.
A motion was made by Kurt and seconded by Rusty to close the Depreciation CD and the Savings CD and open new 10 month CD’s with an interest rate of 4.75%, passed.
A motion was made by Ira and seconded by Kurt to authorize Jonette to purchase a Kyocera color copier for $2, 995 plus 1 year service plan, passed.
A motion was made by Glen and seconded by Carl to pay the company insurance for the year, passed.
A motion was made by Kurt and seconded by Carl to nominate Chancy for President, passed.
