Love the Boot Week is Louisiana’s largest litter removal effort with over 650 clean up and beautification events happening across the state.
Kinder
Locally the Town of Kinder and Kinder Rotary will host “Kinder Kicks the Can” at Lambert Park. Volunteers are encouraged to arrive at the park at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, April 23.
Organizers said litter will be picked up at Lambert Park on First Avenue. Gloves and trash bags will be provided. Free t-shirts will be given while supplies last. All of the items for this event are being provided by the Love the Boat Campaign by Lt Governor Billy Nungesser.
Oberlin
Oberlin will be participating in the event this weekend on April 20. Mayor Larry “Coach” Alexander is encouraging residents to get involved. Stop by or call city hall to sign up.
Statewide
To kick off this event, Lieutenant Governor Billy Nungesser and Keep Louisiana Beautiful will launch the largest litter removal effort in Louisiana – Love the Boot Week – on Friday, April 19, at 11 a.m. at the state capitol. More than 650 cleanup and beautification events are planned in all 64 parishes during the week of April 20-28.
