REEVES – The Village of Reeves’ anticipated growth is on the horizon as the council discussed the arrival of buildings for the hospital clinic in the village at March’s meeting.
In new business, the council learned the buildings were onsite and asked about the next phase. Attorney Chad Guidry explained the buildings would receive paint and a face lift before DHH would give its approval to begin using them as a clinic.
The council learned the plans for the village’s new city hall were waiting for the fire marshal’s approval at its meeting. This week, the village learned the plans have been approved and the engineer is working on the plans that must be approved by the state before the project can go to bid.
Interviews for the village’s new assistant police chief will begin shortly, and the council learned the new proposed convenience store, which will bring gas to the community, is waiting on approval from a supplier. Ground breaking should take place in April and will be at the store’s former location.
(Editor’s Note: In this week’s edition, the word assistant was left out of the Reeves story where they are interviewing for a new assistant police chief. We regret the error.)
