Several Allen Parish educational millages will be up for renewal during the Preference Primary on March 23, and all are very important to the district.
Last week, Allen Parish Superintendent Brad Soileau released a video discussing the upcoming tax renewals on the Allen Parish School Board Facebook page. He also gave a written message to the paper concerning those important millages.
Soileau said, “On March 23, 2024, the Allen Parish School Board will have a parish-wide renewal on all Allen Parish ballots, and there will be renewals on the ballots for School District No. 4, Fairview; School District No. 25, Kinder; School District No. 5, Oakdale; School District Ward 1, Oberlin; and School District No. 3, Reeves.”
Superintendent Soileau wants to ensure that all Allen Parish residences recognize that all taxes that are associated with the Allen Parish School Board on the ballot are renewals, and these taxes will not result in any new millages for Allen Parish residences.
“Within the coming weeks, the Allen Parish School Board will be providing the residences of Allen Parish with information regarding the millages collected, the use of the millages and the importance of the renewal of the upcoming taxes for our facilities and the education of Allen Parish students.” He encourages everyone to review this information and vote on March 23, 2024. “As always, educating students is a top priority, and everyone plays a vital role in this process,” he said.
