NOTICE
Notice is hereby given that, in accordance with L.R.S. 3:1609 and LAC 7:XV.314 (A), the Louisiana Department of Agriculture & Forestry, Louisiana Boll Weevil Eradication Commission, has established a boll weevil eradication zone, the Louisiana Eradication Zone, consisting of all the territory within the state of Louisiana.
Notice is further given that all producers of commercial cotton in Louisiana are required to participate in the boll weevil eradication program, including cost sharing, in accordance with the Boll Weevil Eradication Law and regulations. This includes, but is not limited to, reporting of cotton acreage and destruction of cotton plants and stalks by December 31 of each crop year. A copy of the law and rules and regulations may be obtained from the Boll Weevil Eradication Commission, 5825 Florida Blvd. Ste. 3002, Baton Rouge, La. 70806, telephone number (225) 922-1338.
Notice is also given that the planting of noncommercial cotton is PROHIBITED in Louisiana unless a written waiver is obtained from the Commissioner of Agriculture & Forestry in accordance with LAC 7:XV.319(C). To request a waiver, submit a written application to the Department of Agriculture and Forestry, at the address provided in this notice, stating the conditions under which such written waiver is requested.

To review the Statewide Flood Control Program, the Airport Construction and Development Priority Program, the Port Construction and Development Priority Program, and the Short Line Railroad Infrastructure Improvement Program as follows:

These Public Hearings will be conducted in accordance with Act 351 of the 1982 Regular Session of the Louisiana Legislature by the House and Senate Legislative Committees on Transportation, Highways, and Public Works and in accordance with Acts 451 and 452 of the 1989 Regular Session of the Louisiana Legislature by the House and Senate Legislative Committees on Transportation, Highways and Public Works and in accordance with Act 222 of the 2019 Regular Session of the Louisiana Legislature by the House and Senate Legislative Committees on Transportation, Highways and Public Works.
The purpose of these Public Hearings is to review the Statewide Flood Control Program, the Airport Construction and Development Priority Program, the Port Construction and Development Priority Program, and the Short Line Railroad Infrastructure Improvement Program for Fiscal Year 2024 and 2025. All interested persons are invited to be present.
Oral testimony will be received. However, so that all persons desiring to speak have an equal opportunity to do so, it is requested that every effort be made to complete individual testimony as quickly as possible. Oral testimony may be supplemented by presenting written statements and comments to the Committee by mailing the same postmarked within ten (10) calendar days following the hearing to the above address. January 29, 2024
Present, Kevin Meaux, Earl Papillion, Tyler Tullier, Matt Hebert and Sherwin Carrier.
Kevin Meaux called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m.
Motion by Tyler Tullier, seconded by Earl Papillion and carried to approve the minutes from meeting on December 18, 2024.
Motion by Sherwin Carrier, seconded by Tyler Tullier and carried to approve the financial report.
Motion by Tyler Tullier, seconded by Matt Hebert and carried to pay bills.
A public comment period was allowed.
Old Business: USDA update.
New Business: Motion by Tyler Tullier, seconded by Matt Hebert and carried to approve the audit engagement letter with Royce Scimemi for the 2023 Audit.
Mike Manuel and Kalob Deaton to go look at the culverts and determine if they need changing for the washout behind Reed Gas. Work to be done in the summer.
Chris Gravot to go size pipe for ditch by Fred Ryders house. Mike Monceaux wants to put a culvert.
Motion by Tyler Tullier, seconded by Earl Papillion to hold off on big ditch and clean the ditch on the west side.
Need to find someone to trap beavers.
Motion by Tyler Tullier, seconded by Earl Papillion and carried to remove Fred Ryder and Weston Monceaux from the bank account and add Matt Hebert and Sherwin Carrier for signature authority.
Motion by Tyler Tullier, seconded by Earl Papillion and carried that the meeting be adjourned.
