Called to order at 6:15 was a Public Hearing The purpose of this public hearing is to allow citizens to provide comments or opinions on the Adoption of Ordinance No. 1512 to correct the description of immovable property in the sale of adjudicated property to adjoining landowners, and to authorize the signing of an act of correction. No comments were made. Motion was made to close hearing by Councilman at Large Ashy, second by Councilman Smith. 5/5

b. Bars/Lounges request to be open on Sundays for upcoming holidays. A motion was made by Councilman at Large Ashy, second by Councilwoman Allison to approve bars/lounges to be open at 2pm on Sunday, December 24th and Sunday December 31st for Christmas and New Year holidays and to close at 1am and vacate premises by 2am. 5/5
c. Pan American Engineers- Request to award the Love Louisiana Outdoors Program CDBG-CV Project to the low Bidder, Guillory Construction, Inc., for the Base Bid in the amount of $66,700.00, contingent on receipt of approved “Verification of Wage Decision(s) and Contractor Eligibility – Form B-5” from the State of Louisiana, Division of Administration, Office of Community Development. A motion was made by Councilman at Large Ashy, second by Councilman Smith. 5/5

8. Mike Hefner – Approve to advertise an ordinance for the new election plan (redistricting) for the City Council members in the City of Oakdale. A motion was made to approve by Councilman at Large Ashy, second by Councilman Douglas. 5/5
9. Permit Clerk Eureka Wade (Alison Doyle presented) 2024 Beer/Alcohol Renewal Permit. Gus Hayes Mini Mart decision was recused by Councilwoman Allison as she has interest in this business. A motion was made by Councilman at Large Ashy, second by Councilman Smith to approve renewal permit. 5/5 Councilman at Large Ashy recused himself from the decision for Ned’s Hometown Fina Mart, as he has interest in this business. A motion was made by Councilwoman Allison, second by Councilman Smith to approve renewal permit. 5/5. 10. Adoption of Ordinance No. 1512 to correct the description of immovable property in the sale of adjudicated property to adjoining landowners, and to authorize the signing of an act of correction. A motion was made to approve by Councilman Smith, second by Councilwoman Allison. 5/5
Introduction of an ordinance supplementing the Code of Ordinances of the City of Oakdale, Louisiana, by adding an additional chapter, designated as Chapter 30, governing the sale of adjudicated or surplus immovable property. 5/5
Discuss Fussell Street map. More research is needed to determine if the property owners that share this road are willing to let it go and will be up to Mr. Jerry Odom, who was inquiring about the street, to reach out to other owners.
11. Police Chief Chad Doyle
New Hire to Police Department is Joshua Ware- Part time patrolman, a motion was made by Councilwoman Allison, second by Councilman Douglas. 5/5
Status Change for Colton Gilbert to be moved from Part Time Patrolman to Full Time Patrolman, graduated police academy, a motion was made by Councilman at Large Ashy, second by Councilman Smith to approve. 5/5
a. Andrew Ware – From Full Time Patrolman to Part Time Patrolman and last day of employment with the Oakdale Police Department being December 19, 2023, a motion was made by Councilman Smith, second by Councilman at Large Ashy. 5/5
b. Chief’s Monthly report was given.
12. Fire Chief Eric Maricle
a. Joshua Ware resigned from Oakdale Fire Department as full-time
firefighter but will remain under volunteer status.
b. Chief recommended to hire Andrew Ware as part time firefighter. A motion was made by Councilman Smith, second by Councilman at Large Ashy. 5/5
c. Chief gave monthly report.
