Dr. Olubogu Ifeanyichukwu (Petwise) is editor-in-chief of LMA Magazine. The magazine describes Wilson as “a dynamic entrepreneur who has served families, youth, military and many others for over 21 years. He has been a chef, caterer and event planner. His expertise in the areas of hospitality allowed him to plan over 30 successful events in 2019.
“These events included but were not limited to weddings, bridal showers, mother and daughter teas, dance competitions, beauty pageants and veterans and jazz concerts with numerous tributes to icons. Three years ago, he envisioned honoring women for outstanding community service and started the ‘All Women Rock’ events. To date, over 125 women have received awards.
“Dr. Carl also makes charitable donations from some event proceeds. The organization he finds special is ‘Along Comes Hope’ for young, cancer children,” according to the magazine.
Wilson has co-authored several books, including “The Red Blazer,” “The Black Blazer,” “The Pink Blazer,” and “All Women Rock.” (All can be found on Amazon.) He hopes to start a magazine which also will empower women. His books share stories of success and illustrate how personal and business accomplishments shape the lives of his subjects.”
Wilson states his upbringing led him to want to help others. He attributes that to his father, the late Pastor Carl Williams Sr., and his mother, Marjorie Wilson, whom he describes as the matriarch of the family.
“My mother and father pushed education so much that we knew that education must be the key to success.” That is why he continues to arm himself with education and share that wisdom and knowledge with others. He’s a giver by nature, and giving himself to others makes sense in his biological makeup.
“I’m from Oakdale, born and raised in this great city and state where I played multiple sports while in my younger years. Having five siblings and being a twin of a sister, Carla Wilson, we took the advice about education very seriously in our home. We all went to college and became successful in our way. My dad would be proud of us, and we are doing well.”
He holds several degrees including a master’s degree in Christian counseling and a bachelor of arts in liberal arts and communication. A honorary doctorate degree in humanitarianism was bestowed on him in June of 2022.
Wilson said when he is not busy leading seminars and working to empower or praise others, he’s working on his education or visiting with his family. He also has a radio show, “The Carl Wilson Show.”
ILMAA will meet October 7, at the Fidelity Fortune Event Centre, Off Summit Road, Asaba, Delta State, Nigeria, where Wilson will be recognized. This year’s theme will be “Tech, Finance and Future.” The organization interviews, promotes, awards and advertises several lists of outstanding leaders in several categories.
