A flag retirement ceremony was held at the American Legion Post 244 in Kinder on Tuesday, June 20. In the top photo, left to right, are the Armed Forces Royalty – Pepper Manuel, Lifetime Lady of Armed Forces; Layla Mulligan, Young Miss Armed Forces; Zailey Oliver, Jr. Miss Armed Forces; and Kayla McElfresh, Ms. Armed Forces with Richard Morgan and Commander Eric Kuyper. In the left photo, second row, Diego Wade, a senior at Kinder High, played “Taps”. Next to him, Kinder Mayor Wayland LaFargue retires a flag. In the bottom photo, from left, are Landon Smith, Richard Morgan, Doug Hebert Jr. and Hector Ramos. Many attended the event and took part in the retirement ceremony. It was a hot but productive day.
