winners named
Kinder High’s rodeo athletes had a strong showing at the LHSRA State Finals, according to a recent announcement by the Kinder Athletic Booster Club. “Congratulations to Ross Hebert Kaylee Fruge and Tucker Wright for advancing to compete in Gillette, Wyoming in July.
•Ross Hebert placed third in second round and third in the state in tie down roping.
•Kaylee Fruge was first in first round, second in short go and second in state in breakaway roping.
•Kynslee Fruge was third in first round and fifth in the average in breakaway roping.
•Jace Popillion was fifth in state.
•Tucker Wright was first in first round, first in second round, won short go, first in average and third in state with Alex Hebert in team roping.
•Tatum Wright was third in short go and seventh in state.
•Allison Savant was fifth in first and finished 14th in the state.
Scholarships included the Billy Duhon $2,800 8-Semester Memorial Scholarship to Ross Hebert, and the Edward Lee and Carolyn Kinney $500 Youth Memorial Scholarship to Kaylee Fruge. Fruge also received the TXC Memorial Spirit of Service $500 award.
