Parish collections continue to illustrate negative collections for the majority of accounts. February’s collections for 2023 only had two accounts “in the black,” which included the occupancy tax and tourist commission funds.
Overall in monthly collections, the parish saw a decrease of approximately $440,572.09 when comparing month-to-month comparisons. Last year, $1,918,747.13 was collected compared to this year’s $1,478,175.04. The year-to-year comparisons only showed a decrease of $437,837.97 being collected last year. Collections for year-to-date, previous year was at $3,461,782.47 compared to the current year’s total of $3,023,944.50.
January 2023’s collections started the year off at $1,545,769.46 in the YTD current year collections reported last month. The YTD previous year was at $1,918,747.13 for an amount change of a negative $372,977.67.
