Pickle retires

Posted on February 17, 2022

Coach Kenneth “Skip” Pickle retired from Kinder High School in January. He was presented with a cake and took photos with the coaching staff and his family. Pickle dedicated his life to Kinder High’s softball and football programs for more than 25 years, working as the softball head coach and an assistant football coach during his career. His first job was at East Beauregard High School as an assistant. Then he went on to Oberlin High and finally Kinder High in 1995. One of his many honors includes the 2015 Charles Vicknair Assistant Coach of the Year Award in 2015. Pickle graduated from Welsh High School and then pursued his education degree at McNeese. He is married to Laurie. They have three children, Austin, Jordan and Grace. The posting on the school’s social media site of his retirement stated, “We are forever grateful for all that he has done and all whom he has inspired. We love you Coach.”
