The Kinder Chamber of Commerce will host its annual banquet Monday, January 24, at the Coushatta Casino Resort Event Center.
Executive Director Barbara Savant said plans are underway and tickets are being sold for the banquet, which will begin with a social hour at 6 p.m. followed by dinner and awards at 7 p.m.
“We will have a buffet-style supper and entertainment,” Savant said.
The menu planned will contain a mixed field greens salad, bacon ranch pasta salad, garlic herb pork chop, flounder stuffed with shrimp and crab in shrimp sauce, sauteed fresh vegetables, honey bourbon carrots, roasted potatoes and onions with freshly baked dinner rolls. Dessert will be miniature cheescakes.
Tickets will be $50 each. If purchased by today, January 20, one will have an assigned seat with a name card. Savant said after that date, persons with tickets will find seating on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Businesses who wish to sponsor tables can purchase a table of 10 seats for $750. That corporate sponsorship also comes with two bottles of wine and signage.
Savant said, “In order for the Chamber to make our live auction a success we are asking local and area businesses for items or monetary donations to purchase items. Your donation will enhance our fundraiser and give your business publicity as well. We thank you in advance for your kind consideration. Besides the auction, attendees will enjoy a comedy show with John Felts. He is known to cater to audiences with good humor. “He delivers real, funny, one-of-a-kind perspectives on dating, marriage, parenting, American culture and struggling to do the right thing,” according to his bio. He grew up in Northern Virginia, just outside of Washington D.C. and studied marketing at the University of North Carolina at Wilmington.
Felt soon realized he could entertain with comedy. He enjoys making a wide variety of audiences laugh. His comedy is a mix of commentary, story-telling and clean humor. He currently lives in downtown Wilmington with his wife, Elizabeth and their two young children.
Tickets are on sale now. Don’t forget to call today if you want an assigned seat. Savant can be reached at 337-998-1168 or email her at kindercc@centurytel.net.
