The Kinder 6U Boys All Star Team traveled to Youngsville last week to play in the Pony World Series.
The team faced teams from several Texas cities – San Antonio, Forth Worth, Austin and Houston. There were a total of 20 teams competing for the title. The boys competed in two games on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. They lost all those games, but as one coach stated, “The bats were swinging and the ball was moving.”
On Saturday, the team competed in single elimination play at noon and lost by one run, 26 to 25, to a team from Forth Worth.
“We played really well,” Coach Adam Courville said before the team was eliminated in tournament action. “It was really fun coaching theses kids. I’m really proud of the kids, their parents and of Kinder.”
He described his the team as very respectful boys. He said they really played hard over the tournament season and represented Kinder well.
On behalf of the coaches and team, he thanked Eric Fontenot, park director, for all he does for the community and “these boys.”
