A domestic disturbance in Elton on Sunday, July 18, resulted in the arrest of one man. Chief Deputy Christopher Ivey, Jefferson Davis Parish Sheriff’s Office, reported deputies were dispatched to 9055 Highway 190, Elton, in reference to a domestic disturbance 2:30 a.m.
He said the complainant reported to dispatchers that her husband choked her. Deputies observed marks on her neck and arms.
As a result of the call, deputies charged Jeremy Lynn Ballard, 37, of 9055 Hwy 190, Elton, with domestic abuse battery with strangulation. He was arrested and transported to the parish jail for booking.
In an unrelated incident, deputies were dispatched to 5085 Pine Island Highway on Saturday, July 17, at 10:20 p.m. in reference to a subject trespassing on the property.
As deputies approached the location, they observed a white male dressed in a black t-shirt and dark pants walking on the roadway. Upon arrival at the residence, the deputies were told by the complainant that she observed the same white male dressed in black trespassing on the property at the residence.
Deputies left the complainant to locate the suspect they observed walking. When approached by deputies, the suspect fled on foot, ignoring deputies commands to stop.
Chief Deputy Ivey said deputies pursued the suspect into a field and had to deploy a tazer to get the suspect to surrender. As a result, Lee Allen Moir, 45, of 122 Garlington Road, Kinder, was booked into the parish jail on charges of criminal trespassing, resisting an officer, flight from an officer and resisting an officer with violence.
