Senator Heather Cloud, Louisiana District 28, will proudly be displaying a new plaque in her Baton Rouge office, which was made by ag students at Oakdale High School.
Cloud received the new plaque in the shape of the state she represents from students enrolled in the ag program on Friday, May 28, at her office in Turkey Creek. The class previously presented a similar plaque to Representative Dewitt Carrier, District 32.
“She’s very thankful that they took the time to make her something so special,” Vicki Chaddrick said on behalf of Cloud.
Cloud was on hand to personally thank the students for this unique gift. She was able to visit with the group. The students had the opportunity to ask her questions about her work at the state capital. She also invited the students and their teacher to visit her in the capitol building to observe her and Carrier at work.
Two student representatives from the class, along with their teacher and principal were on hand to make the presentation. Oakdale High was represented by Liz Chateliain, principal; Buster Carlisle, ag teacher; and Bailee West and Evan Giles, students.
Besides Cloud, David Allen, her legislative assistant, and Vicki Chaddrick, office staff, were present.
Cloud thanked the students for the unique gift and took photos with them.
