Oakdale native Dr. Carl D. Wilson Jr. is having a good year. He will publish three more books based on his “All Women Rock” conference series and his upcoming graduation where he will receive two doctorate degrees in humanitarianism.
The three titles of his new books are “The Red Blazer,” “The Black Blazer” and “The Pink Blazer.”
“The Red Blazer” will launch in August. It focuses on women entrepreneurs and follows 11 successful business leaders. It continues his message of “All Women Rock.” Last year, his message became part of an organization that now spotlights successful women in All Women Rock events in his area.
This book features a series of inspirational life journeys which follow the success stories of 11 women in business, as leaders and serving their communities. Their powerful stories are heartfelt, inspiring stories.
Wilson said, “The 11 women featured in this book are examples of courage, determination and faith. They openly share their life journeys including how they became business and professional leaders, philanthropists and outstanding pillars of their communities.”
Wilson said his vision is to travel around the world recognizing and honoring women from all walks of life who have made an incredible positive impact in their communities and ultimately the world.
“I believe women have risen, made their mark in the world and deserve the recognition to be appreciated, celebrated and honored,” he said.
His next two books, “The Black Blazer” and “The Pink Blazer” also feature individual stories of success. He co-authors all three with stories of inspiration.
“The Black Blazer” will be released in September and focuses on men entrepreneurs.
His third book, “The Pink Blazer” will be released in December. It focuses on young ladies who are entrepreneurs.
All three titles will be available on Amazon in the authored book search. Also more information can be found at https://www.cdwilsonevents.com.
Wilson left Louisiana in 1990 for a position in management with Wal-Mart.
For over 21 years, this entrepreneur has been serving families, youth, military and other individuals through his catering and event planning company. His expertise in the areas of hospitality has allowed him to plan many events from weddings, bridal showers, mother and daughter teas, dance competitions, beauty pageants, veteran events and jazz concerts.
He has made numerous tributes to icons, and three years ago, he had the vision to honor women who did outstanding service in their community through his “All Women Rock” conferences. He uses proceeds from the events he hosts to fund a charity called “Along Comes Hope.” (It is for young children with cancer.)
Wilson also has plans to start a magazine that will feature empowering women. On his website, he features some of these women under his magazine header. He has his own line of perfume designed to add to the theme of his book that “All Women Rock,” and apparel for sale with the “All Women Rock” logo.
Wilson said his mother was a great role model who inspired him when he was growing up. She taught him to cook and instilled in him the value of helping others. It’s that inspiration that led him to become a personal chef and start his own catering company.
“I saw the need to do first class events,” Wilson said about his idea to create his catering company. He does numerous events across southern California. He is now hoping to expand his operations into other states.
Wilson is described as a man who empowers women, recognizes and honors them for the great work that they have accomplished.
Wilson’s mom, Margie Wilson, still lives in Oakdale, along with his sister, Michelle Wilson, who is a school director and teacher. He says she is very proud of the great things he has done to make a difference.
Wilson graduated in 1984 with his twin sister, Carla Wilson. In high school he played football, basketball and track before studying and graduating from Grambling State University in 1990.
He will receive his two doctorate degrees in humanitarianism on June 29, one from Alpharetta, Georgia and one from Virginia.
