The second arrest, according to the sheriff’s office, occurred on Tuesday, April 20, 2021 when the Allen Parish Criminal Patrol Unit stopped a blue Dodge Challenger for driving left of center on U.S. Hwy 165 near Whatley Road in Oakdale.
The driver of the vehicle was identified as Anthony R. Evans of Alexandria, La.
During the traffic stop it was discovered Evans was driving with a suspended driver’s license. Evans appeared to be extremely nervous. K-9 Diesel provided an odor response of suspected narcotics inside the vehicle. Upon further investigation it was determined that Evans was in possession of 10 pounds of synthetic marijuana. While taking Evans into custody he began to resist arrest, deputies were able to take him into custody without injury to deputies or the suspect.
Evans was booked into the Allen Parish Detention Center and is being held on a $202,500 bond.
