The community lost its park to hurricane damage earlier this year, so the annual Christmas gathering will be moved to the recreation center. The council said plans were to combine the gumbo and community’s Christmas celebration.
Gumbo will be served at 4:30 p.m. Saturday, December 12, at the recreation center. Live music will start at 5 p.m. The entire event will be held from 4:30 to 7 p.m. At press time, organizers were still working on specifics while keeping Covid-19 regulations in place.
The council did adopt a state procurement after Chad Guidry explained the procedure and how it would benefit the village to utilize it in upcoming village projects. The council also discussed the future of its maintenance department in regards to those upcoming projects.
The council adopted its financial reports and minutes from its November meeting before closing the December meeting.
