The Village of Reeves had housekeeping duties at its meeting Monday night, October 5.
The council held a public hearing for its tax millage rates and then approved the rates unanimously. The council adjusted its millage rates for 2020 at 4.77 mills, and rolled forward its millage for 2020 to 4.89 mills.
Police Chief Waylin Bertrand asked the council to approve the hiring of James Witherington as a full-time officer. He said Witherington would work the evening shift and assist when needed. The council approved the hiring of Witherington.
No public comment was noted when the council provided financials for the month. The council also accepted the minutes of its August meeting.
