According to the Allen Parish Sales Tax Collection Report June’s sales taxes, collected in July, saw an increase of 44.76 percent compared to this time last year. This report is a reflection of the amount of sales made by businesses in the parish.
The entities who saw increases in collections for the month of July 2020 compared to 2019 were:
Allen Parish School Board No. One and No. Two, they collected $559,736.68 this year compared to last years $237,044.64. This is an increase of $322,692.04 or 136.13 percent.
Allen Parish School board No. Three collected $279,878.50. This is a $43,527.96 or 18.42 percent increase from their 2019 collections of $236,350.54.
The Allen Parish Police Jury collected $195,915.65 which is a $30,470.85 or 18.42 percent increase from their 2019 collections of $165,444.80.
The Town of Kinder saw an increase of $8,643.16 or 17.17 percent when they collected $58,971.41 in July 2020 and $50,328.25 in July 2019.
The Town of Oberlin collected $31,331.97 which was a $14,217.61 or 83.07 percent increase from their July collections last year of $17,114.36.
The Town of Elizabeth collected $13,926.29 which was 0.26 percent or $36.48 more than last years collections of $13,889.81.
The City of Oakdale saw an increase of $35,188.70 or 37.23 percent when they collected $129,715.44 compared to last years collections at this time of $94,526.74.
The Town of Kinder Library/Sewrage tax saw an increase of $2,592.99 or 17.17 percent when they collected $17,691.52 this year compared to last years collections of $15,098.53.
Allen Parish Sheriff District collected $279,878.52. This was an increase of $43,528.62 or 18.42 percent, compared to last year’s collections of $236,349.90.
The Village of Reeves collected $8,976.96. This is an increase of $1,764.35 or 24.46 percent from their collections last year of $7,212.61.
The only two entities that saw decreases in collections were:
The Allen Parish Occupancy Tax which collected $3,948.39 this year and $6,557.25 last year. This is a decrease of $2,608.86 or 39.79 percent.
The Allen Parish Tourist Commission collected $7,826.60 or 39.79 percent less when they collected $11,845.13 compared to last year’s collections of $19,671.73.
Total collections were up by $492,227.30 or 44.76 percent. Collections in July of 2019 were $1,099,589.16 and in July of 2020 they were $1,591,816.46.
