Nicole R. Higgins graduated from the Florida Institute of Technology in Melbourne, Florida, in a small ceremony Saturday, August 1, with her PsyD (doctor of psychology degree).
Higgins received her M.S. in applied behavior analysis and M.S. in psychology from the Florida Institute of Technology. She received her B.S. in psychology at McNeese State Univertisty.
She interned at Kennedy Krieger Institute/John Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland. She is doing her post doctoral fellowship in Baltimore at Kennedy Krieger Institute/John Hopkins University. Her specialty is pediatric psychology.
Her doctoral research project is tobacco and E-cigarette use in youth with autism spectrum.
Higgins is the daughter of John Higgins Jr. and Charlotte Richard Higgins. (Charlotte is a graduate of Kinder High in 1976.)
Although deceased now, her maternal grandparents once resided in Kinder, the late Wylie and Una Richard of Kinder. Her paternal grandparents were from the Iowa and Lacassine area, the late John and Nellie Higgins. Her step grandmother, Lou Kershaw Higgins, resides in Lake Charles.
