The November 3, ballot will hold several big ticket items not just for the country, but for local governments. Qualifying for this ballot ended last week.
Allen Parish
Parish wide residents will be voting on a new district judge for division A. The candidates for this seat are Judi Abrusley, Chad Guidry and Steven Sumbler.
Division B District Judge David Deshotels is unopposed and will retain his seat.
Joseph “Joe” Green Jr. will be unopposed for the 33rd Judicial District Court District Attorney.
Justice of the Peace Ward One will be Stephen Manuel, Ward Two Joanna Sneve, Ward Three will be Dawn Perkins, Ward Four will be Chad Reeves.
All candidates running for the seat of constable justice of the peace are running uncontested. Ward One will be Mark Bailey, Ward Two has no candidates, Ward Three will be Ryland Dunnehoo, Ward Four will be Donald “Don” Dowies.
Oakdale
The mayor’s race for the City of Oakdale will include candidates Mayor Gene Paul (incumbent) and James Vidrine.
The chief of police race for the City of Oakdale will have candidates Chad Doyle and Bryan Hargrove.
The only candidate qualified who for the Oakdale City Court Judge was Luke Abrusley. This will be Abrusley’s first term.
Michael “Freck” Slaney is uncontested for city marshal. Slaney is beginning his second term.
Councilman races for Oakdale will include District One Cassandra “Shon” Allison (incumbant) and Gwendolyn Alsburry.
Council member District Two will have a race between Fredrick “Pos” Douglas (incumbant) and Ben Jack.
Council member District Three incumbant Ervin Willis is keeping his seat uncontested.
Council member District Four will see a race between Ralph Stapleton (incumbant) and Jeremy Smith.
Council member at large George Ashy II is keeping his seat unopposed.
Elizabeth
The Village of Elizabeth will be electing a new chief of police. The candidates will be Katrina Ford and Scotty Laborde.
Statewide
U.S. Senator candidates will be Beryl Billiot, John Paul Bourgeois, Bill Cassidy, Reno Jean DAret III, Derrick “Champ” Edwards, Xan John, David Knight, M.V. “Vinny” Mendoza, Jamar Montgomery, Dustin Murphy, Adrian Perkins, Antoine Pierce, Melinda Price, Aaron Sigler, Peter Wenstrup.
U.S. Representative Fourth Congressional District candidates will be Ben Gibson, Kenny Houston, Mike Johnson and Ryan Trundle.
