Louisiana 4-H members have the opportunity to compete for best in the state in more than 40 events ranging from plant identification, photography and computer simulation to speech making and fashion design, according to Brooke LaFargue, associate extension agent. She said 4-H University gives students the opportunity to meet 4-H members from throughout the state and compete for trips and prizes through a variety of project-area contests.
4-H University was very different this year, according to LaFargue. “Normally we travel to the LSU campus to compete. However, due to COVID-19 contests were done virtually. We are very proud of our members that participated!”

•Delicia Hamilton (Kinder High 4-H) participated as a fashion board member.
•Vernon Janice (Oakdale High 4-H) applied for Citizenship Board.
